Overview & Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Business of GTM collects, uses, and shares personal information. Business of GTM is published by Audience Stack Inc., a New Jersey corporation ("Business of GTM," "we," "us," or "our").
This policy covers: our website at businessofgtm.com (the "Site")our email newsletter(s) (the "Newsletter") our podcast and video shows, wherever they are distributed (the "Podcast") our official accounts on social networks such as LinkedIn, YouTube, and X (our "Social Channels") any events, surveys, forms, or other communications we run (together with the above, the "Services") By using the Services, you acknowledge this policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the Services. This policy supplements our Terms of Service.
Where you live matters. We operate from the United States and apply this policy worldwide, but your rights depend partly on local law. Section 7 explains the extra rights available to residents of US states with privacy laws, the EEA, UK, Switzerland, and Canada. If you live in a US state with a comprehensive privacy law, we extend to you the same rights California residents have, even where your state's law does not require it.
This policy does not cover our employees or contractors, or third-party websites we link to.
1. Information we collect
#information-we-collectInformation you give us
- Newsletter sign-up: your email address and, if you choose to provide them, your name, company, job title, and the topics you care about.
- Contacting us: anything you include when you email us, send a tip, fill out a form, or reply to the Newsletter.
- Surveys, polls, and reader research: your answers. Some surveys may ask about your role, company size, or tools you use.
- Sponsors and partners: business contact details and billing information for companies that advertise with us.
- Podcast guests and sources: name, title, company, bio, photo, and the audio and video of recorded conversations. Guest appearances are also covered by a separate guest release.
We don't need or want sensitive personal information (such as government ID numbers, financial account numbers, health information, or precise location), and we ask that you not send it. If you do, we use it only to respond to you.
Information collected automatically
- Newsletter engagement: our emails contain standard tracking technology (a small pixel and tracked links) that tells us whether an email was opened, which links were clicked, the approximate location, and the type of device and email client used. Some email clients, such as Apple Mail, pre-load images, which can make open data imprecise.
- Site usage: IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, pages viewed, time on page, and similar analytics data.
- Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 5.
Information from other sources
- Our newsletter platform and its referral or recommendation features: if you subscribe to Business of GTM through a recommendation from another newsletter, we receive the information you agreed to share at that time (usually your email address).
- Social networks: when you interact with our Social Channels (follow, comment, message, react), we receive the information the platform makes available to page owners under its own policies, such as your public profile and aggregated analytics.
- Publicly available sources: our journalism is based on public reporting, filings, company announcements, and public posts. When we write about professionals in their business capacity, we use information they or their companies have made public.
Information we infer
We may group subscribers by engagement (for example, "reads most pricing coverage" or "hasn't opened in 90 days") so we can tailor what we send and clean our list. We do not use these groupings to make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
2. How we use information
#how-we-use-informationWe use personal information to:
- deliver the Newsletter, Site, and Podcast, and manage your subscription
- understand what readers find useful so we can improve our coverage
- respond to your messages, tips, and requests
- run surveys and publish aggregated, anonymized results
- sell and deliver sponsorships, and report aggregated performance to sponsors (for example, total opens or clicks on a sponsored placement; we do not give sponsors your email address unless you ask us to)
- produce, edit, and publish podcast and video episodes
- protect the Services against spam, fraud, and abuse
- comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service
Legal bases (for readers in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland): we rely on your consent (for example, subscribing to the Newsletter or accepting non-essential cookies), our legitimate interests (running and improving a publication, analytics, security, and responding to inquiries), contract (sponsor agreements and guest releases), and legal obligation where applicable. You can withdraw consent at any time.
6. Your choices
#your-choices- Unsubscribe from the Newsletter at any time using the link at the bottom of every email. We may still send you a small number of administrative messages, such as confirming your unsubscribe or notice of a material change to this policy.

Published journalism. Privacy laws include exceptions for free expression and journalism. A request to delete your personal information applies to your subscriber and contact records. It does not require us to remove or alter published reporting, commentary, or podcast episodes. If you think something we published about you is inaccurate, see the corrections process in our Terms of Service.
How to make a request: email privacy@businessofgtm.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." Tell us your name, the email address you use with us, and where you live. Please do not send government ID numbers, financial account numbers, or health information. We verify requests by confirming you control the email address on file. We will acknowledge your request within 10 days and aim to complete it within 45 days. If we need more time (up to another 45 days), we will tell you why. You may use an authorized agent; we will ask for proof that you authorized them. If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision with "Appeal" in the subject line.
